Sounds of Seven Sisters

Celebrating sisters in Seven Sisters

Seven Sisters is so named due to a circle of seven trees at Page Green, Tottenham, that have stood there for hundreds of years, with a local tradition that they are replanted when needed, each time by seven sisters. Sounds of Seven Sisters celebrates the contribution of sisters to the community, focussing on Edith Hibbert who planted a tree with her sisters in 1886. Also an artist, Edith painted local scenes, I have created a soundscape of one of her paintings showing Crows’ Walk, a popular walk which used to run from Bruce Grove Station to Bruce Castle Park. In dialogue with the past, two new audio postcards have also been created with two sets of sisters running businesses rooted in Tottenham, With Milk cafe and First Reform Pilates studio,
