Oh Pod! x UCL

A UCL East Community Engagement Project

Oh Pod! x UCL is an award winning podcast aiming to demystify health research at UCL, led by Dr. Rupy Matharu & Dr. Shoba Poduval in collaboration with Future Formed (a Borough of Waltham Forest initiative). The three part mini-series focussed on issues often deemed taboo in ethnic diverse communities, including perinatal mental health, anxiety and psychological distress and neurodiversity, and saw Future Formed hosts Shakria and Iman interview UCL academics who are experts in their fields, as well as having lived experience, to help bust myths and ground the conversations in reality.

You can watch/listen to the series on YouTube, Spotify or anywhere you get your podcasts.

Episode 1: Perinatal Mental Health with Dr Kate Adlington

Episode 2: Autism and Common Misconceptions with Professor Kurinchi Gurusamy

Episode 3: Anxiety and Psychological Distress with Professor Oliver Robinson

The project won an IHE Engagement Award in June 2023. Oh Pod! x UCL was funded by UCL East Engagement's Development Fund, and grew out of the Diverse Voices project. The fund is managed by UCL Community Engagement Manager Briony Fleming.
